Group Obedience Classes
Building the foundation starts here!
Group obedience classes help provide you and your dog with a quality education, in a fun, safe and controlled environment at an affordable price. I offer a variety of classes to suit your needs. Whether a new puppy or an adult dog, there is a class for everyone! Classes are updated on a regular basis so if you don't happen to see a class date that works for you, check back at a later date to see future classes, or email me to ask to be put on a wait list. Aside from the standard 6 week classes, from time to time I will also be offering specialty classes which are either a 4 week program or a 1 day special workshop.

***Please note: Only those who fill in the online booking registration form and pay their deposit can attend classes. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to reserve your spot as spots are limited. Online payments can be made by debit or credit card. The remainder of class fees ($50) are to be paid in cash or e-transfer at the first class OR if you prefer to pay by credit card online, an invoice with payment link will be sent for you to pay.***
Puppies Only Socialization Class
$160/6 week program
Building a solid foundation for your puppy and confidence building through experiences and socialization. Very basic training commands are taught. We cover all the common puppy issues and training requirements.
- For puppies UNDER 5 months of age at the start of class.
- No previous training required.
- Requirements: 6 foot sturdy leash (slip rope leash recommended), proper fitted non-slip collars (or harnesses for those better suited to one), and small sized treats (dehydrated, freeze dried or moist treats please -- no hard or crunchy).
- 6 Class Program -- 1 hour each week for 6 weeks.
- Classes are taught indoors and outdoors (weather permitting).

- For dogs and puppies close to 5 months of age or older at start of class.
- No previous training required.
- No aggressive dogs please!

Advanced Obedience Classes
$160/6 Week Program
- Second level obedience training for those who want to take skills one step further.
- For dogs and puppies OVER 6 months of age at start of class.
- Must have completed a basic/beginner level class first OR dogs have decent level of basic training.
- No aggressive dogs please!
- Requirements: 6 foot sturdy leash (slip rope leash recommended), proper fitted collars (or harnesses for those better suited to one), and small sized treats (dehydrated, freeze dried or moist treats please -- no crunchy).
- 6 Class Program -- 1 hour each week for 6 weeks.
- Classes are taught indoors and outdoors (weather permitting).

Tricks N' Treats Class
$160/6 week program
- A fun class for both dog and handler, rewards based training.
- Dogs MUST be food motivated!
- No aggressive dogs please!
- Both dog and handlers must have completed Beginner and Advanced obedience in order to participate.
- Having fun teaching: shake paw, high five, gimme 10, play dead, crawl, spin, backing up, roll over, lay on side, sitting pretty, targeting, "bang bang" (paws up), dance and more.
- Requirements: 4-6 foot sturdy leash, proper fitted collars and small sized treats.
- 6 Class Program -- 1 hour each week for 6 weeks.

Out N' About Classes
$110/4 week program
- A quick 4 week program, where each week the class is held at a different outdoor, public location in Winnipeg.
- A fun class for both dog and handler, training in the "real world".
- No aggressive dogs please!
- Both dog and handlers must have completed either a Beginner or Advanced with Tess's Dog Training OR a Beginner and Advanced obedience class through a different training facility in order to participate.
- Classes are held outdoors, unless inclement weather. Please dress accordingly. Bring water, poop bags, and insect repellent (if you choose).
- Requirements: 4-6 foot sturdy leash (slip rope leash recommended), proper fitted collars (make sure dog cannot slip out) and small sized treats.
- 4 Week Program -- 50 mins each week for 4 weeks.

Single Topic Specialty Classes
$40/45 minute class
- A single 45 minute class to work on specific issues such as leash manners, recall training, and more.
- For dogs and puppies close to 5 months of age or older at start of class.
- No previous training required.
- No aggressive dogs please!
- Requirements: 6 foot sturdy leash and martingale collar OR slip rope leash (recommended), proper fitted non-slip collars or harnesses for those better suited to one. NO flexi/extendable leashes please.
Small sized treats (dehydrated, freeze dried or moist treats please -- no hard or crunchy).
- Classes are taught indoors and outdoors (weather permitting).
- Only 6 Dogs per class unless otherwise stated.

Leash Manner Class
Leash Manners class is a single 45 minute group session to help you teach your puppies/dogs to have proper manners while walking on leash. Please note: This is NOT a class for highly reactive OR aggressive dogs of any kind including aggressively barking, lunging, snarling (please contact us privately to address aggression issues).
We will address how to get your dogs engaged and following you on walks, how to redirect properly, how to handle on leash interactions with people and dogs, how the dogs brain works on walks, how to prepare your dog before leaving the house, how to stop leash pulling and trying to say hi or smell everything they see.

Recall Training Class
Recall Training class is a single 45 minute group session to help you teach your puppies/dogs to learn how to come back when called. Please note: This is NOT a class for highly reactive OR aggressive dogs of any kind including aggressively barking, lunging, snarling (please contact us privately to address aggression issues).
We will address how to get your dogs engaged and excited to come back to you when called, how to handle off leash interactions with people and dogs, how properly reinforce recall, how to not ruin recall training, and how to know when your dog is ready to have freedom off-leash and how to be safe doing so.
